| The brilliant new Tombow Airpress is a new twist on the problem of providing pressurised ink. This is desirable so that a pen can write at extreme angles (or even upside-down); in zero-gravity (OK, that's a small target audience!); and on wet paper - all situations where normal ballpoint pens are erratic or fail completely. Normally this is solved using a refill containing gas at high pressure. Tombow have solved the problem using an ordinary ballpoint refill but ingeniously using the retractor mechanism to create enough pressure to power the refill every time it is pressed. Genius! |
